The Two-factor authentication procedure adds an extra layer of security to your Omicrex account by requiring to enter a security code in addition to the password, when signing in to account. Security codes (one-time passwords) are generated in the Google Authenticator mobile application.
Thus, even if the password from your Omicrex personal area is compromised or stolen, only the person who has physical access to your mobile device will be able to log into your Omicrex account.
If you are a lucky device holder based on Android, BlackBerry, iPad/iPhone or Windows Phone, you can download and install a free mobile application Google Authenticator.
Install the application, enable 2-factor authentication in My Omicrex and generate security codes, thereby increasing the safety of logging into your account. Learn more about 2-factor authentication.
Once you have enabled two-factor authentication with Omicrex, the login procedure will slightly vary from the usual process. You’ll start by logging in as usual with your e-mail and password. Then you will be asked to enter a one-time password generated by the 'Google Authentication' application.
If for some reason you can not get the security code, use a unique backup code that we strongly recommend you to generate while passing the '2-factor authentication' procedure or after its activation at any time.
IP White/Black lists
If you have a static IP address, another way to increase your Omicrex account security is the use of White/Black IP lists. Choose Settings→ User Activity in your Omicrex profile and add the address you want to whitelist/blacklist. This way you can block unwanted IP addresses or, conversely, allow access to only specific IP addresses that you trust.
Once added an IP address to the White list, you will be able to access your Omicrex profile only using this address. If your White list is empty, you will be able to access your Omicrex personal area using any IP address which is not blacklisted. Learn more about Black/White list of IPs.
